Collection: Midges

Midges are a crucial food source for trout, despite their small size. Unlike other aquatic insects such as mayflies, caddis flies, and stoneflies that have specific hatching seasons, midges can hatch throughout the year. This makes them a reliable and consistent source of food for trout in various seasons. So, even though midges may seem less significant due to their size, they play a vital role in a trout's diet.

Including midges in your fly box is a great idea to increase your chances of a successful fly fishing trip.

Recommended tippet-6x or smaller.
